31 Migrants Drown in the English Channel

French authorities recovered the bodies of 31 migrants who they explained drowned in the English Channel hoping to arrive at the U.K., just one of the channel’s deadliest migrant crossings in recent decades.

A fisherman noticed bodies floating in the sea on Wednesday and alerted French authorities around 2 p.m. nearby time, officers explained. French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin explained five women and a tiny female had been among the lifeless. He explained only two migrants had been rescued alive so much, and both of those remain in essential issue. Rescue operations are continuing, he explained.
