Libya, U.S. Probe Alleged Gold Trade Between Venezuela and Warlord

Libya and the U.S. are investigating suspected gold-for-money trades involving Venezuela and Libyan militia leader Khalifa Haftar, safety officials stated.

The Libyan govt, with the assistance of the United Nations and the U.S., has been monitoring Mr. Haftar’s private jet, which is suspected of carrying gold from Venezuela to West Africa, and from there to Europe and the Center East, U.S., European and Libyan safety officials stated.
