Natco Pharma to launch pheromone product to control Pink Bollworm in cotton crop

Natco Pharma Ltd is panning to start its initial Green Label Pheromone item for Successful Management of Pink Bollworm (PBW) in cotton crop duirng Kharif 2021.

“Natco Pharma is pleased to announce its foray into Pheromone based mating disruption technologies for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) solution to farmers in India,” the Hyderabad drug maker claimed in a statement on Monday.

The item will be released underneath the brand Natmate PBW. “This is the initial pheromone-based indigenously produced item for mating disruption that been given acceptance from Central Insecticide Board (CIB),” the organization claimed.

Natco, by way of its Crop Overall health Science (CHS) division, is working with ATGC Biotech Pvt Ltd (ATGC) for the technologies. ATGC is a science-based progressive technologies organization concentrating on creating new biosafe molecules and equipment to safeguard diverse crops from insect pests, in collaboration with US-based agricultural biotech organization ISCA Inc.

Pink Bollworm posed a significant problem in the past couple years to cotton farmers throughout India. The damage to high quality and produce of cotton owing to PBW is sizeable and usually seriously has an effect on the livelihood of modest farmers.
