Ryanair abandons flights from Northern Ireland

The motion will come just a few months just after the airline recommenced flights from Belfast City just after an absence of 11 yrs. 

Ryanair operates routes to Malaga, Alicante, Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk and Milan from Belfast Global. 

A spokesman for the airport explained: “It is disappointing that Ryanair has now made the decision to withdraw functions from the full Northern Ireland industry at the stop of Oct, obtaining variously had a presence in all a few community airports in latest yrs.

“It has been a complicated interval for aviation and a time when consumers need some balance and religion in the Northern Ireland air transportation community.”

Earlier on Tuesday, main govt Michael O’Leary explained the airline was established to hit its target of carrying among 90m and 100m passengers for the year to March 2021. It flew 149m passengers in the year to March 2019.

Shares rose jumped two.1pc to €16.41 in London, valuing the airline at €18.6bn.
